Rubio Slams Biden Lifting Venezuelan Sanctions

Share

Amidst the ongoing way between Russia and Ukraine, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) is directing attention to Russia’s relationship with Venezuela. Moreover, Rubio took to social media to criticize President Joe Biden (D) allegedly seeking to lift sanctions on Venezuela to reduce the United States’ dependency on Russian oil.

As well, the Florida Senator questioned by Florida Rep. Val Demings (D) has not condemned the move.

In a message to supporters, Rubio commented that “after hampering domestic energy production and making us more dependent on hostile foreign governments, Joe Biden is looking for a bailout… from Nicolás Maduro’s narco-regime in Venezuela.”

“To reduce our dependence on Russian oil, Biden is considering lifting sanctions on Venezuela’s murderous regime, which has a long history of oppressing its people and aligning itself with Russia,” said Rubio.

Laura Ortiz, the Hispanic Media Director for Marco Rubio for Senate, echoed in the Senator’s remarks, criticizing Demings for not condemning Biden.

“Val Demings’ failure to recognize our nation’s support of President Guaido’s interim Government or condemn Biden’s disastrous decision to send U.S. officials with the narco-regime should raise serious questions about where her priorities lie,” said Ortiz.

She added that “Venezuelan-Americans in Florida see her for what she truly is: a political opportunist who will gladly sell out those fighting oppression in Venezuela to push her radical far-left agenda here at home.”

Although Demings was shortlisted for Biden’s Vice President, the Demings campaign is allegedly distancing itself from the president.

In January, when asked by Jim DeFede if the president would be campaigning with her, Demings responded by saying that “there will come a time as we get closer” where she “will look at a list of people who I might want to come down.”

Rubio’s office concluded by arguing that “Democrats are so desperate to push their far-left Green New Scam agenda here at home that they are willing to engage Maduro directly and ease sanctions on Venezuela’s dictatorial regime.”
