Rubio, Sabatini Comment On Democratic Covid Pandemic Ideology

Share

According to U.S. census data used in an article by Axios, the three counties that saw the largest number of people leave were L.A. County, New York County, and Cook County, Illinois (including Chicago). This all occurred during the height of the pandemic (July 2020 – July 2021).

The top ten counties with the biggest gains in population were five counties in Texas, two counties in Florida, and one county in Arizona, California (Riverside County), and Utah.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said in a tweet that this occurrence is due to people being fed up with “New Age Marxists” in blue counties trying to “pursue ideas from an alternate & imaginary world”

“During Covid the top 3 places people fled were Los Angeles, Manhattan, and Chicago. Because the New Age Marxists live in and fanatically pursue ideas from an alternate & imaginary world. But most people live in the real one," stated Sen. Rubio.

Rubio is arguing that the people that left the big cities were motivated by a search for freedom; to reject the utopian outlook that some of the nation’s metropolises have taken on.

Similarly, in the spirit of Florida Republicans rejecting the ideas of Marxist utopias, state Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R-FL) a U.S. congressional candidate also tweeted, “If you’re still wearing a mask by choice, you are a member of a cult.”

Both of these Republican lawmakers are seeking election or reelection come November.
