Rubio Advertisement Shares Support for Ukraine

Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) has released an advertisement expressing both his support for Ukraine and calling for support as the country battles an invasion from Russia. The advertisement comes as the United States has committed to directing foreign aid to Ukraine amidst its battle against Putin.

Highlighting his speech at CPAC, the Florida lawmaker is seen expressing that “the one thing that I think everyone can agree upon is that the people of Ukraine are inspiring to the world.” Rubio further expresses that "you have 70-something-year-old men, elderly women, younger children, taking up arms prepared to sacrifice everything."

The advertisement goes on to show footage of Ukrainian citizens reflecting on the attack from Russia while also clearing debris from the war.

Rubio, in his speech, asserts that "we refuse to be Putin's slaves, we refuse to live under tyranny, and we're prepared to give our life and die for it."

Coinciding with Team Rubio's release of the advertisement, the Florida Republican has also taken to twitter to further comment on the ongoing battle against Russia. A vocal critic of Putin and the Kremlin, Rubio commented that Putin is expected to launch a cyber attack against the United States.

Referencing what he believes Putin is vying for in continuing its attack against Ukraine, Rubio listed that Putin's goal is to "establish leverage by capturing coast & encircling 6 key cities," "degrade Ukraine's defense industry 7 military," and "offer to 'cease fire' if Ukraine: Demilitarizes, puts neutrality in constitution & forfeits Donbas & Crimea."

President Joe Biden (D) has warned about cyberattacks after reports informed that Russia had used hypersonic missiles. This week, while speaking at a Business Roundtable's CEO Quarterly Meeting, the president shared that the missiles were used "because it's the only thing that they can get through" the defenses of Ukraine.
