DeSantis: 'We are Paying the Price' of a Biden Admin

Share

Criticism continues to mount against the Biden Administration amidst reports that the president is considering lifting economic sanctions against Venezuela. The result would be to obtain oil from Venezuela as an alternative to Russia, but the idea has been denounced by a bipartisan group of lawmakers. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), a vocal critic of the president, contends that skyrocketing gas prices indicate that "we are paying the price" of the Biden Administration.

The Biden Administration has faced a hit in its approval rating as the country faces rising inflation and rising gas prices. Republicans have largely blamed Biden as the president has directed blame to Putin and Russia.

However, in a press release from the Governor's office, the team argues that "Floridians are reeling from this administration's catastrophic failures, and it is hitting them where it hurts - their wallets." They go on to explain that "across the country, gas prices have skyrocketed as a direct result of Joe Biden's pandering to the radical wing of his party."

As GOP lawmakers have voiced, the Governor agrees that "this is a deliberate attempt by radical left-wing socialists to eliminate American energy  in favor of their disastrous Green New Deal policies."

Florida GOP members have voiced their support of becoming energy independence, and this includes restarting the Keystone Pipeline. The controversial measure was cut down as soon as Biden entered office, and Republicans have shared their disapproval of the pipeline's termination. Moreover, the criticism has only amplified as the Biden Administration reportedly seeks a partnership with Venezuela for oil.

Florida Rep. Kat Cammack (R) shared her disapproval in a recent interview with FOX Business, calling it "disgusting" while Florida state Senator Annette Taddeo (D) voiced that "the freedom of a people cannot be negotiated behind their backs or sold for a barrel of oil."

With the issues persisting ahead of the upcoming midterm election, DeSantis' team commented that "after a little over a year in office, Joe Biden has negatively impacted the daily lives of the everyday Floridian."
