DeSantis: 'Brandon Has Failed'

Share

With President Joe Biden (D) delivering his State of the Union address to Americans, Florida Republicans either showed no interest in attending, or they flat out questioned the President's speech.. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), a political rival of Biden's, shared his thoughts ahead of the address, saying that "Brandon" "has failed at, well, just about everything."

At the address, the President discussed a number of subjects, including making the argument that the country is better off now than it was a year ago. Biden received cheers of support regarding some concerns like protecting the border, which got a gesture of approval from the likes of Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R).

However, one political figure that remains a sharp critic is Governor DeSantis, who directed a message to supporters expressing that the country is in fact not better now than it was a year ago.

"From inflation to the price of gas, he has singlehandedly sent our country in a downward spiral and put America last," said DeSantis, adding that Florida has been able to thrive because of its emphasis of "putting freedom first and rejecting the failed policies of the left."

Governor DeSantis outlined other concerns, saying that "the crisis at our southern border ballooned under Biden, marking over 2 million illegal border crossings in 2021." He shared that because of the rising inflation, Americans are "seeing over a 7% increase on food costs and a 40% increase in the price of gas since January 2021." Finally, he criticized the President for shutting down the Keystone Pipeline, arguing that "this torpedoed strong American jobs and eliminated our energy independence, leaving countries like Russia to fill the void."

DeSantis faces a strongly contended gubernatorial race in the upcoming 2022 election, but he has also been speculated to be prepping for a presidential run in 2024. This means that he could end up challenging President Biden, but he could also be facing a primary challenger in President Donald Trump (R).
