Taddeo Campaign Will Visit all 67 Florida Counties

State Senator Annette Taddeo (D) has announced that she plans on visiting all 67 counties in the state ahead of the primary election that could see her becoming the Democratic nominee for the 2022 midterm election. In a news release, Taddeo affirmed she is committed to telling her “story and vision to all 67 counties” to drive home the message that she works for all of Florida.

Taddeo took inspiration from Florida Governor Lawton Chiles (D) who earned the nickname “Walkin’ Lawton” after taking part in a 91-day and 1,000 mile walk from the town of Century to Key Largo.

Chiles is also noted as the last Democrat elected to the Governorship almost 30 years ago in 1991.

In the news release, Taddeo said her team is “going to go to every corner of the state.”

The Florida Democrat faces Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) and Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) who formerly served as Governor of Florida as a Republican. Moreover, in 2014, Taddeo was Crist’s runningmate in his unsuccessful bid for the Governorship.

In contrast to her opponents, Taddeo said that her of success is different.

She explained that it is “a story of a mother with a daughter in public school who went on to flip a seat from red to blue, in a state Senate district Trump won, twice – the American dream personified and now running to be Florida’s next Governor.”

Taddeo is expected to travel through all 67 counties in an RV similar to one she once called home.

Taddeo was the last candidate to enter the Democratic primary, and she has been a vocal critic of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R) handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last month, she accused DeSantis of “trying to make voting harder for Floridians,” and she made a call for all “to fight this voter suppression, so that all of our voices can be heard and represented.”
