FL Democrats Credit 'Biden Boom' for US Job Market Success

Share

While many Republicans are blaming President Joe Biden (D)  for the recent inflation crisis, Florida Democrats have credited the "Biden Boom," for recent US job market success.

At the beginning of December 2021, last month, Americans applying for unemployment benefits hit a 52 year low.  The Associated Press has already branded this latest jobs report as, "more evidence that the U.S. job market is recovering from last year’s coronavirus recession."

"Unemployment claims dropped by 43,000 to 184,000 last week, the lowest since September 1969, the Labor Department said Thursday. The four-week moving average, which smooths out week-to-week ups and downs, fell below 219,000, lowest since the pandemic hit the United States hard in March 2020." - Associated Press 12/09/21

Florida Democrats have since labeled this positive economic trend the, "Biden Boom," crediting, "Massive government aid and the rollout of vaccines helped revive the economy and the job market by giving Americans the confidence and financial wherewithal to go on a shopping spree."

Although we have seen massive job gains recently, the total number of jobs added to the US economy in the latest numbers is still short of pre-pandemic numbers in February of 2020.  Research indicates that we are still almost 4 million jobs short of pre-pandemic statistics.

While the Biden Administration attempts to make a slowly but surely economic comeback, Republicans continue to grow impatient and credit Trump-era policies for the leftover economic success.  Earlier this year, Biden indicated that he would keep the Trump business tax cuts, contrary to the platform he ran on.

President Biden has also adopted policies from the previous administration across the board, that they once villainized.  Earlier this year it was announced that the "Remain in Mexico," immigration policy would stay intact as well.
