Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared on the Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle” Tuesday night where he was asked if he and former President Donald Trump were still on good terms. After stating that Florida was a “free state” and “ the rock of freedom in the United States, Gov. DeSantis said that the “corporate media” has made a concerted effort to “manufacture something where it doesn’t exist.”

“We are a free state. We are the rock of freedom in the United States.”—Gov. Ron DeSantis

“The corporate media Is trying to manufacture something where it doesn’t exist. When I ran for governor, he endorsed me when everyone told him “don’t do it,” said DeSantis. He had my back, and when he ran for election, we had his back in Florida, raising a bunch of money. He has a great margin of victory in Florida.

DeSantis added that he and President Trump  saw “eye to eye on all the big issues” and that he had “zero, zero animosity or anything” towards Trump, dismissing the allegations that there was a rift between him and Trump, adding that the media was  “just trying to create division.”

DeSantis continued, accusing the mainstream media of protecting President Biden and his struggling administration.

“He had the worst first year than any president in United States history since the 1800s and they know he is failing on all fronts. They are trying to divert attention away from those failures and trying to create fissures in the Republican Party. That ain't going to happen,” concluded DeSantis.

Florida Democrats are running with the narrative that DeSantis is governing with his eyes set on running for president in 2024.

DeSantis is running for reelection in 2022 and will face the winner of the Democratic gubernatorial primary.

Rep. Charlie Crist, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, and State Senator Annette Taddeo are all vying to win their political party nomination for governor.
