DeSantis Accuses Biden of ‘Political Revenge’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is  again criticizing the Biden Administration, arguing that the President is enacting “political revenge at the expense of Floridians.” Gov. DeSantis and President Joe Biden have exchanged verbal jabs since the President assumed office, and the Governor has vowed to stand in the way of the President as a dissenting voice.

“Floridians are now at the whims of a floundering, failing President’s edicts,” said the Governor in a message to supporters.

“Without notice or a shred of data to back up this decision, Joe Biden pulled the rug out from under Florida and revoked the authorization of monoclonal antibody treatments – something that has saved tens of thousands of Floridians suffering from COVID,” explained the Governor.

Regarding the treatment, DeSantis has been a proponent of providing it for Floridians.

Earlier this week, the Food and Drug Administration announced that health care providers would not be able to use two monoclonal antibody therapies, and experts allege that the treatments have not been effective in combating the omicron variant.

Calling the President’s first year in office “one disaster after another, DeSantis reiterated that it includes “a border crisis that is raging, inflation that’s skyrocketing and impacting millions of Americans and the list goes on.”

DeSantis takes issue with the Biden Administration because “instead of addressing any one of the numerous problems he’s created, he would rather focus his energy on stripping elderly Floridians – most of whom have been vaccinated – of their potentially life-saving treatments.”

He concluded by saying that this “could have been avoided if we had even a shred of competence from the White House.”

On Monday, Kenneth Scheppke, the deputy secretary for health, sent a letter to the Biden Administration officials, expressing that “Florida disagrees with the decision to halt Regen-COV in the absence of clinically based evidence, which to date has not been provided by the FDA,” adding that “such decisions from the federal level continue to (be) made in this haphazard manner.”
