To close out the year, Casey DeSantis, the First Lady of Florida, shared a year in review message for supporters. Supporting her husband, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), Casey championed the efforts of his administration while sharing that there’s more work to complete in 2022.
Governor DeSantis faces 3 Democratic challengers, and one will emerge from the primaries to face DeSantis in the 2022 midterm election. However, Casey DeSantis is not worried about Governor DeSantis’ chances of being reelected, arguing that “no governor has been as steadfast in protecting the liberty and freedom of the people they represent this year.”
Casey sent a message to supporters over the weekend, reflecting on the work the DeSantis Administration has conducted over the year. The Governor received criticism from Democrats over his response to the ongoing pandemic, but Casey praised Governor DeSantis, saying that ‘he held his ground and spent much of 2021 blazing a path and setting an example that other elected officials across the country followed, and more Americans had their God-given rights protected as a result.”
“He’s made Florida the best state in the nation for members of law enforcement, and our children and communities are safer today as a result,” Casey said.
“Instead of shutting our businesses down and sending fellow Floridians to the unemployment line, Ron has Florida’s economy roaring even beyond pre-pandemic levels,” she explained, adding that “as other states revert back to remote schooling that harms the mental health and education outcomes for our children, Ron has kept Florida’s children in school and made sure Florida’s teachers feel our appreciation for their hard work.”
She concluded that “the results speak for themselves here in the Sunshine State,” detailing that “more people came to Florida than any other state last year because they want to live under the freedom and prosperity our governor has created.”
