Mike Waltz Praises Joe Manchin for 'Standing Up' to Build Back Better

Share

After enduring intense political opposition from the House "Squad," US Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) is praising US Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) for standing up against the costly Build Back Better agenda.

After the moderate Sen. Manchin announced his rejection of President Biden's (D) agenda, the progressive left was all but silent on the wild card Senator.  Members of the "Squad" accused Manchin of "obstructing" the president's agenda and even acting in bad faith.

US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) swiftly stated in response to Manchin's controversial decision, "It is unconscionable the way the Senate operates. It’s fundamentally undemocratic,” she said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” demanding a “crackdown on the Senate, which operates like an old boy’s club that has a couple of gals.”

However, not everybody was dismayed with the groundbreaking, but predictable move.  Congressman Mike Waltz made an appearance on Fox News, in which he stated he was, "thanking God I live in the free state of Florida, for my family, and Sen. Manchin's courage to represent his constituents & not succumb to the Progressive Left."

Waltz listed  pressures Manchin faced amidst everyone's reaction to Manchin's decision, praising his, "courage to withstand cancel culture, they thought they could threaten his family, intimidate him in his home, chase his colleague in the bathrooms, and use the same tactics that have worked for them."

Rep. Waltz added, "Well, it didn't work on the Senator from West Virginia, because he never forgot who he works for, he works for those West Virginians, and their values and their goals, and dreams, and aspirations, and not the Squad."

Waltz continued, calling the recent Build Back Better legislation that Manchin opposes a, "massive overreach," and that, "any rational actor would try to break this bill apart and pass individual pieces of it."  Waltz then thanked God that the bill has now, "imploded," which would not be possible without Joe Manchin.
