With multiple cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant being reported across the country, Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), announced that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was discussing streamlining an Omicron-specific vaccine to be distributed to the public.

The news comes after the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that it would be suspending the enforcement of the Biden Administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. That itself came after a lengthy rivalry between President Joe Biden (D) and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), who is once again directing criticism at the Biden Administration, sending a message to his supporters and rallying support against “preventing corrupt tyrants like Biden from slashing our rights and infringing on our freedom.”

“Joe Biden tried his best to put millions of Americans out of work, even as our workforce is suffering, inflation is skyrocketing, and Biden’s Build Back Better plan is going to make us BROKE,” argued DeSantis, adding that “there is already a nationwide shortage of nurses and many other health care professionals, but instead of focusing on getting people back to work, Biden followed the ‘science’ of corrupt bureaucrat Dr. Fauci.”

“Remember, our medical workers are the same men and women who have been on the front lines since the start of the COVID pandemic,” said DeSantis, noting that “that didn’t matter to the tag team of Biden and Fauci in their quest to impose more authoritarian edicts over their subjects.”

In response, DeSantis echoed that “Florida is rejecting lockdowns, mandates, and all the other oppressive dictatorial policies coming from this administration.”

Finally, he affirmed that “there is nobody in power who has been more consistently wrong about COVID than Dr. Fauci, and I won’t let his false prophecies control the livelihoods of Floridians.”

At the end of November, President Biden was asked if his Administration was considering another lockdown to combat the omicron variant.

His response was that another lockdown was not on the table “for now.”
