Demings Accused of 'Dismissing Sky-High Inflation'

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) warned that this holiday season would be “expensive” for Americans because of a number of issues, including a supply shortage and rising inflation. Along with his colleague, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R), Sen Scott ahas directed criticism at President Joe Biden (D) over his administration’s handling of the economy.

As Rubio faces Florida Rep. Val Demings (D) in his 2022 senatorial reelection bid, the South Florida Republican’s campaign continues to throw political jabs at Demings over her voting record. In a statement, Demings was criticized for “dismissing how sky-high inflation is burdening families.”

Elizabeth Gregory, the communications director for Marco Rubio for Senator, had some strong words for Rep. Demings this week as both Rubio and Demings face off for Rubio’s senatorial seat.

The race is one of the most closely watched races leading up to the 2022 midterm elections with both lawmakers launching heavy criticism at each other.

After Senator Rubio warned Floridians that Demings is an “advocate for her radical agenda in Washington” earlier this month, Gregory is now echoing in his remarks” by saying that “Val Demings advocates tax hikes for Floridians in the form of the Build Back Socialist agenda.”

“Food, gas, flights, and electricity are all more expensive this fall, and yet Demings has spent recent months trying to further her radical agenda rather than working to lower costs,” Gregory expressed.

She added that “this year it’s more expensive to visit family and enjoy a Thanksgiving mean together, and yet Val Demings wants to increase the financial burden on Florida families” and calling for Demings to “focus less on forcing socialist policies on the American people and more on how to bring costs down.”

Scott, who is the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has expressed hope over Rubio defeating Demings in the election, but Demings has amounted financial support to drive further engagement in her campaign.
