The Biden Administration has about a year under its belt, but Democrats have to start preparing for the midterm elections if they hope to see the same successes they had in 2020. Today, US Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) has given his prediction of the 2022 midterm election which seems very optimistic for Republicans.
Since losing the majority in 2018, the GOP has gained an immense amount of ground, narrowing the Democrat majority in 2020 to just five seats. Now, Rep. Steube feels that 2022 will be the year Republicans push that number way over the edge, saying that "History teaches us that power in the White House loses 35 or 40 seats, we need 5 to regain the majority."
"I think she( Speaker Pelosi) knows that's the direction they're going to go. Look history teaches us that power in the White House loses or the party in power in the White House loses 35 or 40 seats, we need five to regain the majority and with as far left as the policies that they've been espousing from both the administration and from Congress, said Rep. Steube. "You're pushing people who are moderate or independent into our camp, so I think I don't think we're just going to invite I think it's going to be a strong showing in November."
Steube also credits the possible GOP victory with "far-left policies," claiming that, "I don't think that's the direction the American people are going because the policies of this administration we're putting in place."
Historically speaking, Steube is correct and everyone else seems to be expecting this as well. The Floridian previously reported that 78% of Capitol Hill Aids also predict a landslide GOP win in 2022.
Every year Americans complain about polarization, but with hot-topic issues, such as COVID-19, Critical Race Theory, and vaccine mandates, now taking up all the mainstream media headlines this election season, it appears as if the deep divide between political party's will deepen.
