Bilirakis Says Biden's Inflation Driving Up Price of Apples, Salad Dressing

Share

Comparing the presidencies of current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump is like comparing apples to oranges, especially when talking about inflation.

Speaking of apples, the price of apples during President Biden's first year in office has jumped 5.6% as a result of the Biden inflation predicament the nation currently faces.

With President Biden's approval numbers tanking as a result of his handling of the Afghanistan retreat and for his current fledgling U.S. economy, Republicans are pouring salt into Biden's open political wound.

Rep. Gus Bilirakis is just one of many Congressional Republicans who have firmly blamed the current economic state of the country on President Biden.

"Florida families cannot afford the rampant inflation happening under President Biden's watch. In fact, inflation has increased every month President Biden has been in office. From the gas pump to the grocery store, the cost of daily life keeps getting more expensive," tweeted the veteran Rep. Bilirakis.

Another Florida Republican, Sen. Marco Rubio, recently blamed inflation on "far left lunatics."

Former President Trump recently told Yahoo Finance that he believed Biden's inflation was "going to ravage our country."

"Well, it looks to me like inflation is going to ravage our country. I was there a long time ago with Jimmy Carter as president and the inflation was devastating, where rates went-- you had a prime rate that went up to 21%, which is not even believable when you think of it," said President Trump. And I saw things during that period as a businessman that I have never quite seen, even since. And we've had some recessions, but not since. And it's very scary when you look at gasoline. From 187 a gallon when I was president, it went from 187 and now it's well over $5 and it's going to go a lot higher."
