Florida State Senator Annette Taddeo (D), who is contemplating in the 2022 Democratic gubernatorial primary, is accusing the Texas abortion law that is going into effect as “dangerous” and “against the so called freedoms we are granted in this country.”
The abortion law Sen. Taddeo calls “draconian” bars abortions at the six-week mark of the pregnancy, has gone into effect Wednesday morning after federal courts of appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court refused or failed to address several “emergency” complaints filed by the pro-Abortion lobby.
“The right to choose is under attack, Roe v Wade is in jeopardy. We can’t idly stand by & let it happen. This new draconian Texas law is not only dangerous but goes against the so called freedoms we are granted in this country," stated Sen. Taddeo.
Texas’ “heartbeat law” is very similar (stronger) than all of the past state laws the preceded it, regardless of whether the woman was raped.
President Joe Biden reacted to the law, stating. “The Texas law will significantly impair women's access to the health care they need, particularly for communities of color and individuals with low incomes,” adding, “My administration is deeply committed to the constitutional right established in Roe v. Wade nearly five decades ago and will protect and defend that right.”
