Nikki Haley Endorses Maria Elvira Salazar

Share

Though she currently does not have any Democratic candidates running against her in the upcoming 2022 midterm election, Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R) is amassing support for her reelection bid. This week, Governor Nikki Haley (R) announced her endorsement of Elvira Salazar’s reelection bid.

Haley added that Elvira Salazar has “taken on some of the world’s most brutal dictators – like Castro and Maduro – and she’s not afraid to take on AOC and the squad.”

Former South Carolina Governor Haley, who is rumored to be mulling over a presidential run in 2024, has gained followers and detractors in recent years since serving as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations under the Trump Administration.

She hasn’t confirmed or denied whether she’ll be running for the presidency in 2024, but she has entered the 2022 midterm election landscape, with the support of Rep.Salazar.

“Maria knows what’s at stake as Democrats make socialism mainstream,” noted Haley, adding that Elvira Salazar is “the proud daughter of parents who fled Communist Cuba,” and “she’ll never back down when our freedoms are under attack.”

In turn, “Maria knows just how blessed we are to be Americans and I’m proud to endorse her.”

This week, Elvira Salazar also gave a speech on the House floor, referencing the protests that have taken place in Cuba against the Castro regime.

Directing comments to President Joe Biden (D) and the Administration’s response to the political turmoil, Elvira Salazar said that the Administration should provide more than just “empty words” to the Cuban people.

Aside from not having any current Democratic challengers, Elvira Salazar is also not facing any primary challengers.
