Florida Records 'Nearly 64,000' Jobs Created in July

The state of Florida continues to be one of the hardest-hit states in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic. As cases continue to rise, the state however is experiencing an uptake in the workforce. In a newly released statement provided by Friends of Ron DeSantis, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) touted that “for 15 consecutive months, we’ve been lifting up Florida’s workers and businesses.” The Governor informed that July recorded “nearly 64,000” jobs, which is “the most in a single month in almost one year and marks 15 consecutive months of job growth in Florida.”

DeSantis has been involved in a feud with President Joe Biden (D), asserting that the state will not experience another lockdown, it will not impose a mask mandate on residents and it will also not require vaccine passports. In turn, the Governor has received pushback from Florida Democrats, but the Governor has maintained that the state will be open for work.

“Democrats and the liberal corporate media ignored the science and expected me to do the same,” said DeSantis, adding that Democrats “preferred endless lockdowns and authoritarian government power-grabs that would crumble our economy and put Floridians out of work.”

Criticizing states like California, New York, and New Jersey, DeSantis said that “the leadership of lockdown governors” has only led to “some of the worst unemployment rates in the country.”

“People are fleeing these states for havens of liberty like Florida,” DeSantis noted, asserting that “in Florida, I protected freedom and kept businesses open.”

Sharing that the unemployment in Florida is now at 5.1%, the Governor takes pride in expressing that “we acted in the best interests of our people and the result has been better, more prosperous lives for the people of Florida.” As a result, “our resolve to do what’s right has made Florida a leader in providing economic opportunity.”

The Governor is currently running a reelection campaign against Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) and Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D), who formerly served as Governor of Florida as a Republican.
