Florida Democrats in "Massive Trouble" After new Voter Registration Numbers Released

Share

The latest August voter registration numbers are out and Florida Democrats are terrified that the trending uptick of Republican voter registrations could signal that the Republican Party of Florida is poised to repeat the gains they made during the 2020 presidential election.

"If this doesn’t change, @FlaDems are in massive trouble. Not just this cycle, but for the next presidential, too," tweeted Democratic Strategist and spokesman for Nikki Fried,  Kevin Cate.

Cate retweeted  Adrienne Bogen, the executive director of the Progressive Florida Ground Game group that has been out trying to register Floridians as  Democrats.

The news is so bad for Democrats that Bogen sounded the alarm:
"BREAKING: August voter registration numbers are in and its the largest jump of the year— Dem registration advantage now 23k over Reps, down from 55k last month. I would not be surprised if they took the lead next month."
Another progressive grassroots activist is Rep. Anna Eskamani, who also expressed her concerns over the new registration numbers, stating that "ALL hands" needed to be on deck as the voter registration gap between Democrats and Republicans  is "getting smaller and smaller."
Buy while Bogen, Eskamani, and other activists are doing what they can to get people registered as Democrats, the problem they appear to be facing is out of their control.
If they are going to blame anyone for Republican gains, they need to blame their leaders, starting with President Joe Biden and the questionable leadership that he has showcased since taking office.
Democrats have already seen the writing on the wall after their Progressive Democratic/Socialist policies and candidates were rejected during the 2020 presidential election, but even with those losses, Democratic leadership has continued to press forward with the same agenda that most Americans appear to reject.
According to Pew Research, the Republican voter registration trend began in 2016.
"There currently are 5.30 million registered Democrats and 5.17 million registered Republicans in the state – an edge of about 134,000 voters in favor of the Democrats. But the size of that margin has fallen from 327,000 in 2016 and 658,000 in 2008," stated Pew.
That 134,000 voter edge is now down to 23,000.
Now, Florida Republicans can't be given too much credit for this uptick. Efforts on the ground to get Republicans to register to vote are almost non-existent, which only makes the case for the right-leaning shift of Florida's electorate
Republicans can thank former President Donald Trump for "taking aim" and getting the ball moving by exposing Democrats and corporate media during his term in office, but the bulk of the credit needs to go to Progressives and the full-pressed espousing of their ideology and agenda.
The big takeaway here is obvious. The more Democrats like gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried continue to push the progressive agenda, the higher the chance will be that they lose one election night.
