Censorship has been a crucial talking point for Republicans since Twitter and Facebook's infamous ban of former President Trump (R) on all the major social media platforms. Now the practice is starting to become less foreign for many Conservative officials, such as US Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), who has been censored by Youtube for simply giving his opinion on COVID-19.
In a recent interview with OANN, the South Florida Congressman spoke about "opposing mask mandates, especially for children." The interview was then posted on Youtube by a user and was quickly taken down by the powers that be.
Donalds angrily tweeted about the newest case of censorship, stating that "According to Big Tech, opposing mask mandates, especially for children & speaking out against vaccine mandates, is 'medical misinformation.' You can try & censor me, but I won’t be silenced.":
This is not the first time Donalds has contributed something "controversial" to the conversation on schools and children. Previously the Floridian reported on Donalds during the height of Critical Race Theory education's growing popularity in which he stated "that's not what we do in America."
It is safe to say that Donalds, who was elected to the US Congress in 2020, has a clearly rising stock now that Big Tech has attempted to censor him.
