Rubio Still Leading Demings in Latest Poll

Share

There is no secret that Florida has been and will continue to be the center of national politics into the foreseeable future.  With Governor Ron DeSantis' (R-FL) stock rising in the Sunshine State, US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will be entering this election season with a comfortable approval rating.

The Quinnipiac poll that was conducted in Florida showed shocking statistics, such as 6 in 10 Floridians not wanting DeSantis to run for president.  However, Rubio's senate seat is in play the incumbent senator has a 49% approval rating, with 38% disapproval.

Another 13% offered no opinion and gives Rubio a net positive rating in his state.  The data is comforting for Republicans, considering the highly influential Representative Val Demings (D-FL) who will attempt to dethrone Rubio in November of 2022.

While Demings has a solid moderate appeal, often times backing up the police and trying to distance herself from Socialism, Rubio has so far, crushed Demings in funding, and if the data is any indicator he should have a downhill fight this election season.

The rest of the data showed largely uniform.  Floridians at large gave an overall negative approval of President Biden (D) with a 40% approval rating.  Confirming the red trend we're seeing state-wide in Florida.

In terms of re-election, Quinnipiac feels that Rubio is "just below the comfortable mark" referring to 50%.  47% of Floridians responded that Rubio deserves to be re-elected.  This data goes along with 77% of Republicans, 15% of Democrats, and 46% of Independents who reported a positive view of Rubio for 2022.
