The latest Quinnipiac Poll shows that Gov. Ron DeSantis’s approval rating has risen 6 percentage points from this time last year.
In July 2020, Gov. DeSantis’s approval rating was underwater 41-52 percent as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeSantis’s effort to keep Florida open and resistance to pressure of shutting down the state and mandating masks, not to mention his latest endeavor of promoting Regeneron’s Monoclonal antibodies treatment, has pushed his approval rating up to 47 percent.
Not all Floridians agree with DeSantis's job as governor. 45 percent of those surveyed disapprove of the governor’s work
As you can imagine, DeSantis’s job ratings are split along political party lines, but 55 percent of Independent voters polled side with Democrats.
DeSantis needs to improve with this particular and ever-important voting block.
Also, the governor is at a deficit (41-51 percent) when it comes to the way he is perceived in handling the ongoing mask mandate issue in public schools.
According to Quinnipiac, “889 self-identified registered voters in Florida were surveyed from August 17th - 21st with a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points.”
