Pizzo, Democrats Mock DeSantis's Verified Illegal Immigration Resettled Claim

Share

When Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) reasserted his position about the ongoing border crisis and tweeted his disdain for the federal government's new policies on illegal immigration, where they are relocating illegal immigrants that cross the southern border, Democrats, including State Senator Jason Pizzo, began to ridicule him over his illegal alien relocation claim.

"@DHSgov is aiding and abetting a massive illegal migration across the southern border. This is impacting states and the nation, and represents a failure to faithfully execute the law," tweeted Gov. DeSantis.

DeSantis's tweet links to a letter the governor sent to the Biden administration where he demanded the federal government stop the "resettlement" of illegal aliens across the country.

Sen. Pizzo (pictured), who is considered a "moderate" Senate Democrat, posted a Google map showing the driving distance and time between Florida's western-most city, Pensacola, and Texas' Brownsville, the southern-most city in the nation.

Pizzo appears to have posted the Google map to show how far the southern border was to Florida in an effort to discredit DeSantis's assertion.

In response to a request for comment, Sen. Pizzo stated, "My family didn’t come over on the Mayflower, did yours?"

Well, it appears if DeSantis wins this argument and Pizzo loses it.

Since the border crisis began, it has been well-documented that immigration officials have resorted to busing illegal immigrants throughout the U.S. because of the overflow problem they are experiencing along the southern border. The buses first began to arrive in Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, and other Texas cities, and then other cities, including cities in Florida, began to receive busloads of illegal aliens, as reported on by the Associated Press.

In addition, many of these illegal immigrants are boarding planes at airports along the border and are flying to points unknown in the U.S. Some of these immigrants are being diverted to some cities or regions for processing, and then sent back to Mexico.

Case in point. During a recent trip to Washington, D.C., The Floridian stood in a security checkpoint line with no less than 15 illegal immigrants single me who were flown to Miami, given food and new clothing and received brand new Mexican passports to be able to board a plane back to their native Mexico.

We spoke to two of these illegals who told us that they were in the country illegally for about two weeks and were afforded many accommodations from the U.S. government and from immigration groups that supported their efforts to cross into the U.S.

“To fill the void left by the federal government, Florida deployed its own law enforcement officers to the border, and they’ve told that many of the illegal aliens apprehended there plan to end up in Florida,” commented DeSantis, mentioning that “Floridians welcome responsible immigration that serves the interests of our citizens, but we cannot abide the lawlessness that this administration is aiding and abetting, and frankly encouraging, on the southwest border.”
