New Poll: Majority of Democrats Now Prefer Socialism

Amid the rise of Socialism in the United States, most self-proclaimed "Democratic-Socialists" have been dismissed as fringe radicals.  Now, a concerning new poll shows that the majority of Democrat voters now prefer socialism to capitalism.

Between August 7-10 of this year a Fox poll showed that 59% of registered Democrat voters who participated now have a positive view of socialism, compared to 49% of Democrats that felt the same way about capitalism:

The data has only suggested socialism's rise in popularity.  The same poll was taken in February of 2020 where then 50% of Democrats approved of capitalism, with just 40% saying they approve of Socialism.

On the other hand, 67% of Republicans had a favorable view of capitalism, with a sobering 8% having a favorable view of socialism in the new poll.

"The trend toward socialism among Democrats comes at a time when members of Congress such as self-described democratic socialists Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez, (D-NY)., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I-VT.), have had a growing influence on Democratic politics. Sanders, as chair of the Senate Budget Committee, has been leading a charge to pass a $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill that he says is aimed at addressing wealth inequality." - Fox News on the recent data.

Although the growth towards socialism has appeared to be slow, socialist ideas are being enacted more than swiftly in public policy.  US Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) even described the new infrastructure bill as the "gateway to socialism" which has been endorsed and pushed by the so-called "moderate" President Biden (D).

The bill will include the expansion of government-funded programs such as tuition-free pre-K and community college, not to mention the expansion to Medicare that will ultimately become a universal centralized system, Blackburn is not too far off of reality, and the polls show it.
