As thousands of Americans remain stranded in Afghanistan as a direct result of President Joe Biden’s now-failed exit strategy, Rep.Brian Mast (R) wants the president to at the very least to resign but wants him formally charged with 15,000—50,000 counts of criminal reckless endangerment.
Shortly after appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Rep. Mast told The Floridian that “endangerment is a crime in countless states” and that “he should be brought up on between 15,000 and 50,000 counts of it.”
During his television appearance, Rep. Mast expressed his concern about the billions of dollars in military hardware that was abandoned, including aircraft and “surface-to-air assets," dubbing the situation as the "Afghanistan hostage crisis."
“We don’t know what surface to air assets they have, what capabilities do they now have to shoot them (rescue aircraft) out of the sky,” Mast asked.
Mast also said that Biden “should have no association with the words commander’ or ‘chief.
Both Democratic and Republican members of the U.S. Congress have expressed their disappointment in the president’s actions, and have called on him to provide “needed information from the Admin on evacuation efforts.”
Rep. Ted Deutch (D) joined a group of House Democrats asking the president for the evacuation plan.
