Democrats Blame Spread of COVID on DeSantis, Republicans Blame Biden

Share

As the COVID pandemic continues to break records as it pertains to the infection rate, Democrats are quick to cast blame on Gov. Ron DeSantis for the spread of COVID because of no mandated masks position, and for not shutting down the state like other “Blue states” have done.

Gov. DeSantis has been pushing Floridians to get vaccinated, but it appears as if his pleas have fallen on deaf ears, as the overwhelming majority of new cases are of people who have not been vaccinated.

But somehow, it’s DeSantis’ fault for the spike in cases.

DeSantis is the top official in the state, so naturally, the blame is placed on his shoulders. This is also the case at every level of government.

Now Democrats like State Senator Shevrin Jones and Rep. Ted Deutch are pressing DeSantis to mandate masks and implement other COVID-related restrictions.

Ron DeSantis is doing everything he can to make the pain of the COVID-19 pandemic worse in Florida,” stated Rep. Ted Deutch. “We need the governor to reinstate emergency orders and promote vaccines & masks as important tools to save lives.”

When the pandemic first broke out, Democrats blamed former President Donald Trump for the infection rate, and now Republicans are blaming President Joe Biden for the surge in cases along the U.S. border because of all of the infected illegal aliens the Biden administration has allowed entering the country.

DeSantis has criticized President Biden over the COVID-19 spread as a result of the “border crisis” the president has just recently acknowledged has been occurring.

“Why don’t you do your job?” DeSantis said Wednesday. “Why don’t you get this border secure? And until you do that, I don’t wanna hear a blip about COVID from you.”

“This is a guy who ran for president saying he was gonna “shut down the virus’. And what has he done?” DeSantis said. “He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide-open southern border.”

“I can tell you, whatever variants are around the world, they’re coming across that southern border,” the governor added. “And so, he’s not shutting down the virus. He’s helping to facilitate it in our country.” DeSantis added.

Some of DeSantis's strongest allies like Rep. Greg Steube have pushed the Border/COVID narrative, saying that “Thousands of COVID-positive immigrants are pouring into our country and Biden has done nothing to stop it.”

But Steube and Republicans are not the only ones pointing to the border crisis as a root cause of the spread of the virus. Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar (D), has also been critical of the Biden administration’s response to both the influx of illegal aliens crossing over and the virus that they bring with them.

Meanwhile, as both sides continue to point the finger at one another, the virus keeps spreading.
