3 Florida House Democrats Become Apologists for Biden's Surrender in Afghanistan

Share

After President Joe Biden completed the U.S. Military’s full retreat and surrender to the Taliban in Afghanistan, marking the end of the 20-year conflict, a bipartisan effort questioning his leadership began to emanate out of the U.S. Congress. Several Florida House Democrats have quietly expressed their distaste for the way the evacuation out of Afghanistan took place, fearing backlash from leadership if they spoke out against the president.

There are three brave House Democrats—Reps. Val Demings, Charlie Crist, and Darren Soto— who took it upon themselves to fill the apologist shoes for the Biden Administration’s —posting, almost verbatim— Biden’s statement announcing the end of U.S. involvement in Afghanistan.

These three members are good people and mean well, but their statements reek of political correctness and of trying to show Biden that they are supportive of his leadership in Afghanistan. Let's chalk them up as politically motivated statements.

President Biden—"The past 17 days have seen our troops execute the largest airlift in US history. They have done it with unmatched courage, professionalism, and resolve. Now, our 20-year military presence in Afghanistan has ended.”

Rep. Charlie Crist—" As America's longest war comes to an end, I'm praying for our veterans and Gold Star families. We are grateful for the service and sacrifice, including the incredible evacuation effort. Our country must remain committed to caring for wounds seen and unseen.”

Rep. Val Demings—" Our service members are coming home from Afghanistan. No words can fully express how grateful we are for their unshakable commitment and dedication. We will remember those we lost and continue to work to keep all Americans safe. May God continue to bless America”.

Rep. Darren Soto—" Our last US troops left Afghanistan ending America’s longest war. This was largest civilian evacuation in history w 122K rescued including 6K Americans. We’re eternally grateful to our troops & mourn 13 heroes lost. Congress must review the matter further.

Biden, nor the three House Democrats, gave any mention of the fate of the Americans left in Afghanistan.

Congressional Republicans, on the other hand, have called the retreat an utter disgrace after billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment were left behind for the Taliban and other terrorist groups to use against Americans down the road.

Rep. Brian Mast@POTUS left Americans and our Afghan allies behind. Completely unforgivable. He must resign.

Rep. Michael Waltz— Rather than keep his promise to get all Americans out, Joe Biden will now have to pay ransoms to terrorists to get them back.

Rep. Matt Gaetz@SecDef Lloyd Austin is one of the most incompetent people to have ever served in a cabinet for a President of the United States.

Interestingly enough, Rep. Gaetz has been the loudest proponent for the U.S. military leaving Afghanistan since taking office.

What’s worse is that President Biden said that the military mission would not be completed until every last American was evacuated.

Best estimates show that some 200-300 Americans were left stranded in Afghanistan when the last military transport flight took off from Hamid Karzai International Airport.
