Share

Dallas, TX—Moments before President Donald Trump took the stage at CPAC-Texas, the Conservative Group announced polling results for a survey they conducted regarding the 2024 presidential election. If President Trump were to run for re-election in 70% of Republicans would support him and only 21% would support Florida Gov. Ron. DeSantis. Now, when they pulled Trump's name from the list of potential 2024 Republican presidential candidates, CPAC Republicans gave Gov. DeSantis a whopping 68% show oof support, easily crushing the field of at least 15 potential candidates, including Donald Trump, Jr., who received 4% of the vote.

Prior to the CPAC poll, another straw poll of 500 surveyed at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver, Colorado,  Gov. DeSantis beats President Trump 74.12% to 71.43.

The last time conservatives voted for a 2024 presidential candidate was in Orlando, Florida at the 2021 CPAC annual event, where DeSantis scored a second-place finish behind Trump.
