Scott: President Biden’s 'Honeymoon Is Over'

Share

As the Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), Senator Rick Scott (R) is tasked with making sure that Republican incumbents win their election and GOP senatorial challengers get elected. As he's previously done, Senator Scott continues to voice his confidence that “it’s going to be a hell of 2022.” During a press call held this week, the former Governor of Florida argued that the upcoming midterm election will prove that “President Joe Biden’s honeymoon is over.”

Earlier this month, Senator Scott commented that “the inconvenient truth” for “democrat politicians, consultants and their defenders in the liberal media” is that the Hispanic community will be voting Republican in the upcoming election. While detractors could chalk it up as being presuming, GOP challengers ended up winning two Texas Mayoral races in blue districts that respectively went to Secretary Hillary Clinton (D) and President Joe Biden (D).

In response, Ronna McDaniel (R), the Chair of the Republican National Committee, said that the win was a clear indication that voters are rejecting President Biden’s “failed policies.”

As such, Senator Scott assured this week that voters would continue to do so.

Highlighting data from an NRSC-RGA Battleground Poll that was conducted between June 1st and June 3rd, the data indicated that the largely independent group of respondents that took part in the poll was positively responding to GOP policies.

Moreover, 62% of independent respondents argued that the United States is on the path in the “wrong direction” instead of venturing on the “right track.” 51% of the independent respondents also argued that they oppose President Biden’s spending plans in contrast to the 35% that support the plans.

However, President Donald Trump (R) has made it clear that he will be involved in both electing members of the GOP while also campaigning against GOP members that are not “pro-Trump.” When asked by reporters if President Trump would stand in the way of the GOP’s paths to victory in the House and Senate, Scott affirmed that the party’s “time is focused on defining the Democrats.”
