Ron DeSantis during Everglades tour (2018)

The last time conservatives voted for a 2024 presidential candidate was in Orlando, Florida at the 2021 CPAC annual event, where DeSantis scored a second-place finish behind Trump.
DeSantis can’t do anything wrong, and even as Democrats try to saddle him with the blame for all the COVID-19 related deaths in the state, DeSantis’ overall approval rating is above 50%.
Trump has already said he would be considering a run for re-election, fueling the speculation that he could tap DeSantis to be his running mate.

DeSantis legislative victories and campaign promises kept when he ran in 2018, have all but made him untouchable
DeSantis is expected to announce his reelection bid next month and has already said it was too early to think about 2024.
Florida Democrats have had DeSantis locked onto their sights, as both Rep. Charlie Crist and AG Commissioner Nikki Fried are using whatever they can to try to gain traction against the popular DeSantis.
