President Joe Biden has legitimized former President Donald Trump’s then declared ‘fringe theory’ that the “China virus” or the COVID-19 virus originated at the virology lab in Wuhan, and has called for U.S. intelligence to take a second look into the origins of the pandemic, even as Republicans like Rep. Brian Mast have already come to the conclusion that “China lied and Americans died.”

One of Rep. Mast’s colleagues in the U.S. Congress, Senator Marco Rubio (R) who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, tweeted an old tweet he put out in May 2020 that points to what a previously secret intelligence report found in that a group of researchers as the Wuhan lab that has been at the center of the pandemic origin controversy, all got sick in November 2019 and had to be hospitalized.

“Would be interesting if someone analyzed commercial telemetry data at & Wuhan lab from Oct-Dec 2019,” tweeted Sen. Rubio. “If it shows dramatic drop off in activity compared to previous 18 months it would be a strong indication of an incident at lab & of when it happened.”

“China lied and Americans died. China must be held accountable"- Rep. Brian Mast

The Chinese government responded to Biden’s reluctant show of support for President Trump’s assertion that the pandemic originated in China. China has made the unfounded accusation that the virus originated at the US Army biomedical research laboratory at Fort Detrick.

"The US doesn't care about facts or truth at all, neither is it interested in a serious scientific study on the origins. Its only aim is to use the pandemic for stigmatization and political manipulation to shift the blame," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian.

Some 600,000 Americans have died as a result of the COVID outbreak and subsequent pandemic. Senate and House Republicans have introduced legislation that would allow Americans to sue China for allowing the virus to spread and for covering up the extend of the outbreak in that country.
