AG Moody Endorses Adam Anderson in HD 65 Race

Share

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R) endorsed Adam Anderson (R) this week in his race for House District 65. Florida House Speaker Chris Sprowls (R) is term limited, and Moody cited Anderson’s longtime support for law enforcement as a reason for the endorsement.

Anderson announced his candidacy in early June and quickly racked up a number of endorsements, which includes an endorsement from Speaker Sprowls himself.

In making his announcement, Anderson highlighted that “Florida’s success” would rely on having to “build on our success in education by continuing to invest in students and empowering parents” while also noting that the state has to “responsibly balance our budget and give businesses the greatest chance at success.”

Most recently, Anderson has scored support from the entire Pinellas County GOP delegation.

In a statement announcing her support, Moody shared that “Adam Anderson is a local leader who will support our men and women in law enforcement and make public safety a top priority.” Moody praised his “commitment to the rule of law,” noting that it “makes him a perfect choice to keep our neighborhoods safe and protect the progress we’ve made in reducing crime.”

In response, Anderson championed Moody’s time as Attorney.  General, calling her “a true friend to our law enforcement and first responder community and through her hard work our state is leading the nation in the fight against human trafficking and the opioid epidemic that plagues communities throughout our country.” Anderson added that he was “honored to have the support of someone so committed to the safety and security of our state,” and he is reading to work alongside Moody “to protect North Pinellas for years to come.”

Kelly Lynn Johnson (D) is also vying for the Congressional seat, but the district has an estimated 13,000 voter advantage for the Republican Party.
