Wasserman Schultz Calls Taylor Greene an "Anti-Semite," Hopes She's Expelled from Congress

Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) is calling controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) and “anti-semite” and hoped for her expulsion from Congress after she compared wearing makes and vaccine rules to the Holocaust.

During a recent interview with MSNBC, Rep. Wasserman Schultz, who was the sponsor of the bill to strip Rep. Greene of her committee assignments and who backed the effort to censure her, reminded viewers of the stark difference between mask mandates and the Nazi treatment of Jews during WWII.

“She’s suggesting that the Jews, who were forced by the Nazis to wear yellow Stars of David to identify them so that they could be persecuted, is the same as the government requiring people to wear masks and making sure that we encourage people to get vaccinated so we can keep them alive,” said Wasserman Schultz.

“The Nazis forced Jews to wear stars so that they could kill them. This is a woman who has long ago forfeited the right to have cut the title congresswoman in front of her name.”

"Vaccinated employees get a vaccination logo just like the Nazi's forced Jewish people to wear a gold star."- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Wasserman Schultz also took a political jab at fellow Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who has been campaigning with Greene, as well as teeing off on her favorite target, former President Donald Trump.

“I hope the voters of upper district eventually do expel her , but the Republican Party clearly now made up of people who subscribe to the views of Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene and they worship at the altar of Donald Trump,” added Wasserman Schultz.

Republican Minority Leader Mike McCarthy, who has given Greene's past remarks cover in the past, could not do so on this occasion, and condemned the congresswoman’s “intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks.”

“At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Americans must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust. Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language,” stated Leader McCarthy in a statement.

McCarthy’s reference to Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in regard to the Democratic leader’s refusal to call out individually members of the “Squad,” namely Reps.Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, for making anti-semitic and anti-Israel remarks.

Rep. Wasserman Schutlz and other Democratic Jewish-American members of Congress like Rep. Ted Deutch, Lois Frankel, and Jerry Nadler, have also been condemned by Republicans for refusing to specifically name Reps. Tlaib and Omar as anti-semites, yet still call Taylor green one.
