Rick Scott: 'Biden has to get a Backbone'

Share

Washington D.C.- Amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that continues to dominate the world news, many Democratic politicians have been hesitant to publicly support Israel, including President Joe Biden, who Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) claims "doesn't have a backbone" after he appeared to remain complacent to the "radical left" Congresswomen who are advocating for Palestinians.

"Where is Chuck Schumer," asked Sen. Scott during a press conference held by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) regarding the Israeli-Hamas conflict. "He's part of the radical left now. He's gone off the deep."

Scott then said that the Biden Administration was "abandoning their allies and that "Biden has to get a backbone" and stop talking to Iran and giving aid to the Palestinian Authority.

The Floridian spoke with Sen. Scott to talk about the issue, in which he attributes the chaos to the Biden administration, claiming it is "100%" Biden's fault and that the recent uprisings and attacks were not occurring during the Trump administration.  "It wasn't happening last year," said Scott.

The Floridian then asked Scott if he feels that US foreign policy could turn on Israel due to the recent uptick in anti-Semitic rhetoric from Progressive Democrats.

Scott stated: "It already has.  I mean Biden has no backbone.  First off, he wants to get back in the Iran Deal, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, number two is he has given money to the Palestinians, and shocking all of a sudden Hamas is shooting rockets."

Scott then personally called out President Biden saying that he "needs to stand up for Israel, the right to defend themselves" and the U.S.  "needs to make sure we fully fund them, you know this is one of our biggest allies and clearly the only Democracy in the Middle East."

The Senator also made a point to mention that the Democrats are the ones accelerating tensions with Israel, stating "The Democrats first have abandoned American principles of democracy and freedom and all these things, now they're abandoning all our allies," adding that "the radical left doesn't want to defend this country anymore, they've abandoned our principles."

In terms of a cease-fire, Scott remains pessimistic, claiming that a cease-fire "is up to Hamas." Hamas started this.  I mean if they were shooting rockets into the US I'd sure as heck go for that," concluded Scott.

In response to the partisan nature of the middle eastern conflict, Scott plans to propose a resolution on the Senate floor in order to officially get the United States to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization, and reaffirm our loyalty to the nation of Israel.  The U.S. already does recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization however, Scott plans to essentially remodel the same resolution that was passed in 2014, led by then majority leader Sen. Harry Reid.
