The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just announced that it has all but lifted the indoor and outdoor mask mandate for anyone that is fully vaccinated.
Senator Marco Rubio (R), like many other lawmakers, has informed constituents of the CDC announcement, stating that the CDC "now says those who are fully vaccinated no longer need masks indoors or outdoors in most cases."
Florida Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D), who is expected to run for the U.S. Senate in 2022, shared the White House announcement, saying that the CDC lifting of the mask mandate was "exciting news."
But while this is welcome news to most Americans, how will Americans prove that they allowed going maskless? This measure could open the door for vaccine passports, a COVID-prevention measure that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has dismissed and outlawed.
DeSantis’ order prevents any and all business from requiring potential customers from having to present “documentation certifying COVID -19 vaccination.”
“Businesses in Florida are prohibited from requiring patrons or customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or service from the business.”
