Rep. Roach Promises "Reckoning" Over Lee County School Transgender Policy

Share

Florida State Representative Spencer Roach (R-79) has been making headlines recently, to say the least.  His controversial comments on medicinal marijuana in Florida, and on cruise liners in Key West, FL have made him subject to much criticism among some Floridians.

However, Roach has taken a step back from his other battles in order to cosponsor the very controversial HB 1475, which has practically got the attention of the entire country.

Florida has just grappled with HB 1475, a measure that would keep biological males who refer to themselves as "transgender,"  out of women's sports.  A controversial House bill glided through the GOP majority House.

Having said that, right after the House passed this bill, a new Lee County Public School policy on restroom usage ignited a backlash from many Florida parents who oppose biological males using female restrooms

Roach tweeted the hot take out on Twitter where it reads, "All students are allowed to access the restrooms that are consistent with their gender identity", with an article attached:

Roach appeared on Fox News affiliate radio show "Daybreak with Drew Steele" where he said that he was "fired up" by the recent news, calling on all Conservatives to "push back" and to "give these people a reckoning among the likes they've never seen before."

Roach promised a backlash, but "not just in Lee County, not just in Florida, but nationwide."

"Lee is one of the most conservative counties in the country, it can happen here, it can happen anywhere and everywhere," said Roach.

Roach then continued, saying what he believes is driving this topic to such prominence in schools today even in Conservative counties:

"I tell everyone when I speak about politics, the president is important, Congressional elections are important, the State House is important, but the most important election anyone ever votes in is the local school board," said Roach. "They have absolutely the most influence on the future of this country, and people listening should know that almost 50 percent of the Lee County School Board are far-left woke, Democrats.  We need to do something about it."

Roach best summarized his argument when he exclaimed that "These kids don't belong to the government, or Lee County Schools, they belong to the parents," insisting that school boards are  "Supposed to represent the parents and families", not the teachers and unions.

NCAA

When Florida House Speaker Chris Sprowls (R) addressed the recent threat the NCAA made against Florida, where they threatened to pull future championships from the state if the transgender athlete's bill was signed into law, Roach commented that "We need to call their bluff.  There are some things you can't put a price tag on.  And sexual topics of children is one of those things.", adding, "I don't care if they pull out, I don't represent them."
