Donalds Live Tweets During Biden's Joint Address to Congress

Because there was limited seating at President Joe Biden’s (D) Joint Address to Congress, some Florida lawmakers were not able to attend. In turn,  freshman Florida Rep. Byron Donald's (R) live-tweeted during the President’s address and criticized Biden's agenda, questioning the choices he has made in guiding the United States into the future.

During the address, President Biden highlighted job creation and the economy as one of his administration’s achievements, but Donalds quickly rebutted that neither of the two are doing well because of Biden.

“The economy creating 1.3 million jobs has nothing to do with anything” Biden “has done in 100 days,” he tweeted. Similar to what South Carolina Senator Tim Scott (R) responded with, Donalds expressed that “we can thank President Trump, Operation Warp Speed, the good men and women of the pharmaceutical industry for making vaccines a reality, and Governor’s [sic] who opened their economies.”

However, Donalds also commented on job losses that have occurred during the Biden administration. Specifically, he commented on the construction of the controversial Keystone pipeline, which was put to a stop through an executive order.

“The good people who were working on the Keystone pipeline are not working again,” he said, adding that “they lost their jobs” as a result of the President not believing that “they should have ‘those’ jobs.”

Moreover, Donalds questioned Biden’s commitment to helping the American people secure jobs at a time when the nation fights an ongoing pandemic. He asked, “if you care about Americans having good-paying jobs they can raise a family on, why did you kill the Keystone pipeline jobs?”

Calling them “great jobs,” Donalds pressed Biden to answer why he left “the Keystone workers behind?”
