Sen. Ed Markey (D) has just announced that Congressional Democrats in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have introduced “The Judiciary Act of 2021, a measure to pack the U.S. Supreme Court by four justices.

“We are here today because the U.S. Supreme Court is broken. It is out of balance, and it needs to be fixed,” stated Sen. Markey as he opened the press conference.

Sen.Markey says that the concerns “many” Americans have about the Supreme Court “Are legitimate and well-founded” and that Senate Minority Leader, Senate Republicans, and former President Donald Trump are to blame. Markey adds that the court is now viewed as a “partisan political institution” because of what Republicans have done by confirming Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett.

Markey then quipped that it is “up to us to repair the damage” and the Democrats will “
fix the damage by restoring balance by adding four seats to the court to create a 13 - member Supreme Court.,” adding that by packing the court, it would “reflect the values of the majority of of the American people.”

“Republicans seem to think that equal justice for their purposes, their values, and their causes, that is not equal justice. Expanding the supreme court rights the wrongs Republicans has done to the great court. Expanding the supreme court is equal justice,” Markey continued.

As soon as the news broke that Democrats were making their historic SCOTUS announcement t, Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) tweeted that “the Democrat power grab” was in full swing, and “their goal is to pack the courts with radical activist judges that will push their insane agenda. We have to protect our Constitution and the Separation of Powers.”
