Cammack: Biden 'Glazed Over' Border 'Crisis'

Share

President Joe Biden (D) addressed the country last night in his much-anticipated Joint Address to Congress, where he discussed a number of topics that have been prevalent over the last few years. Topics included the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccine rollout, the economy, and immigration. As President Biden outlined his plan for the rest of his administration, Democrats praised the efforts of his administration. However, Republicans were noticeably in disagreement. Not only did Republicans not stand up to clap for the President, but Republicans that were not in attendance also took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the President’s words. Freshman Florida Rep. Kat Cammack (R) did so, criticizing the President, saying that Biden “glazed over” the “crisis” at the border, and going after Vice President Kamala Harris (D).

It’s reported that Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit the border in June, and this is something that the Biden administration has received criticism over. A number of lawmakers have visited the border, but the President and Vice President have not. On Twitter, Rep. Cammack expressed how “disappointed” she was at the job Vice President Harris has done to answer immigration concerns at the border.

Saying that Biden had appointed Harris to be the “new rural broadband czar,” Cammack added that Harris “hasn’t done her job as border czar” and that “adding another title won’t help.”

“Rural Americans can’t afford to wait in fixing the issue,” Cammack added, noting that Harris’ “attendance record is abysmal when it’s time to show up and do the job.”

Cammack also took issue with Biden’s response to the immigration concerns at the border.

Biden “just called the pandemic ‘the worst pandemic ever,’ yet his administration allows immigrants into out country without COVID tests?” she questioned.

She concluded by expressing that Biden “glazed over immigration, avoided saying ‘crisis’ because “to Pres. Biden, it’s not a crisis at all.”
