Moments ago, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (R) asserted his opposition against the transgendered community's support for allowing "biological men" to compete against women in athletics, stating that it was "unfair to allow biological men to compete in women's sports," adding that "COVID funding" and that congressional Democrats want to have pandemic relief taxpayer funds to pay for it.
"It’s unfair to allow biological men to compete in women’s sports," stated Sen. Rubio. "And COVID funding shouldn’t be used to pay for it. But that is what Democrats just supported."
It is widely believed that transgender men hold a significant physical advantage over biological women. Rubio's position is widely supported.
Last month, potential congressional candidate and State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) filed HB 935, a bill that would prevent transgender men from competing against girls in school.
According to Rep. Sabatini, "the bill also makes it illegal to perform transgender surgery on children" and "Both women’s sports and our children must be protected from radical social experimentation."
We reached out to Florida State Reps. Carlos Guillermo Smith and Anna Eskamani, both Democrats and both proponents of LGBTQ rights, but neither could be reached for comment.
Rubio also tweeted that Senate Democrats were "now voting to allow people convicted of felony rioting" to be allowed to receive COVID small business loan funding.
