After the tragic Capitol riot on January 6th, many Democratic members of Congress made big headlines at the expense of calling for President Trump's (R), as they demanded his removal from office.
Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D) fell into this category, as she stood by Speaker Pelosi (D) in a plea to Vice President Mike Pence (R) to invoke the 25th Amendment to oust Trump from office. Ironically, her party did not want Vice President Pence to unilaterally make a decision to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The vice president has already said that the would not use the 25th Amendment to try to oust President Trump from office before his term is up in less than two weeks.
Rep. Murphy has been all but fluid in her partisanship this week, as the Orlando-area congresswoman has also criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) handling of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
DeSantis was described by Murphy as being 'in over his head" and incapable of managing the logistics"
Murphy added that 'They're (Floridians) the ones suffering from this incompetence.'
“He has been incapable of managing the logistics and unfortunately the impact is on Floridians," said Murphy. "They’re the ones that are suffering from his incompetence.”
What Murphy has failed to mention is the prioritization of special populations in DeSantis' vaccine plan, which is scheduled at a rate of 10,000 vaccines per week.
Populations DeSantis intends to provide immediate vaccine accessibility to are: Constituents 65 and older, front line healthcare workers, and long-term care workers.
The Governor has also worked across the aisle as he and Palm Beach County Mayor David Kerner (D), both met with the Florida Department of Health in regard to vaccine distribution.
Statewide, there have been 175,000+ administered vaccines since they have been available to the public.
