The expected 2022 mano-a-mano cage gubernatorial brawl (race) between Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried (D) continues to unfold as Florida’s top Democrat launches another barb at the first term president over his COVID response using more Progressive Democratic talking points.
Via her Florida Consumers First political action committee, AG Fried cited a South Florida Sun-Sentinel “investigation” into the handling of COVID-19 pandemic by Gov. DeSantis, accusing him of “purposefully” not implementing “mask mandates” and attending and “encouraging superspreader events.”
Fried then blame DeSantis for the “destruction and loss of life” or COVID deaths, his “lack of leadership” has brought upon Floridians.
“I will continue to hold him accountable for the destruction and loss of life he has brought upon the state because of a lack of leadership and his politicization of this pandemic,” stated Fried.
While most Democrats were railing against DeSantis and blaming him for the recent police “raid” of Rebekah Jones’ home, Fried refrained from jumping on the bandwagon but questioned the police tactics used during the serving of a warrant.
Police obtained a search warrant for items within Jones’ home after it was suspected that she illegally accessing a state messaging system to urge state workers to speak out against DeSantis and his handling of the pandemic in Florida.
Jones was fired for her open criticism of DeSantis’ COVID response and data reporting.
