CongressioanlDemocrats, including Rep. Stephanie Murphy, are up in arms over President Donald Trump's alleged firing of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency director Christopher Krebs for disagreeing with the president over voter fraud.
Trump had primed the field prior to election day, saying that widespread voter fraud would take place in a consorted effort by Democrats and his political adversaries to defeat him.
Krebs is said to have been fired after he and his agency put out a statement contradicting Trump, saying that the 2020 presidential electi0n was "the most secure in American history."
"There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised," read the statement.
Rep. Murphy, chairwoman of the Blue Dog Democrats caucus in the House of Representatives, questioned Kreb's firing.
"We can disagree on policies, but we should never let politics jeopardize the legitimacy of our democratic institutions," stated Murphy. "I applaud public servants like Mr. Krebs who speak truth to power & I’ll continue working w/patriots from both parties to protect the integrity of our democracy.
How did President Trump announce Krebs' firing?
How else, Twitter.
Trump stated that Krebs' statement was "highly inaccurate" and because of the number of "glitches" and now more and more instances of voting irregularities and newly found ballots that favor him, that that was reason enough to terminate his employment.
In Georgia alone, over 5,000 ballots were found the past two days in two counties, with the majority of those votes going to Trump.
State officials are looking into other possible counties that did not report all of their votes.
