Kristie Alley Endorses Trump: ‘He’s NOT A Politician’

Actress Kristie Alley tweeted that she will be voting for President Trump for a second term in this upcoming general election, saying the president is “not a politician.”

“I’m voting for @realDonaldTrump because he’s NOT a politician. I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason,” Alley tweeted Saturday evening.

“He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it,” she added.

Alley has supported the president before, endorsing Trump in 2016. She has been critical in the past of Trump’s Democratic rival, Joe Biden, and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).

In July, Alley slammed Democrats as “pretty sad” for not wanting Biden to debate Trump. Earlier in October, she called Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “evil,” writing that “she gives witches a bad name.”

Shortly after tweeting her support, a number of celebrities ignited a firestorm, attacking Alley over her tweet backing Trump.

Director Judd Apatow was one of many who criticized Alley for her Trump support.

“Shelly Long was way funnier than you,” Apatow tweeted.

“Breaking: Shelley Long quitting is no longer dumbest decision made by a “Cheers” actor,” Danny Zuker tweeted.

Fellow actress Patricia Arquette responded: “Well my vote for Biden canceled yours out. I have done my civic duty of the day.”

In follow-up tweets, Alley responded to the backlash she received since tweeting her support for Trump.

“Don’t think I’ve ever seen so much name-calling in my life,” Alley tweeted. “Definitely not on my site here anyway I guess I’m not allowed to have a viewpoint without being called a really nasty names by what I’m going to suppose are really nasty people.”

In another follow-up tweet, she reminded her followers to “stick to your guns” than going “against your own integrity.”

As of Monday morning, Alley’s tweet has racked up over 65,500 comments and just over 55,700 retweets.
