Former Vice President Joe Biden has enraged many Americans after posting a campaign advertisement where he stated that Americans have "never lived up" to its true potential, or the "idea" the nation was built on.
"America was an idea, an idea," said Biden."We've never lived up to it but we've never walked away from it before."
Interestingly enough, Biden appears to have walked away from the "idea" of America by referring to the nation in the past tense, so you can imagine how social media has blown up over the former vice president's controversial remark.
Evan Power, a member of the Florida Republican Party, is "disappointed" that Biden is not "proud" of what America has done. Others mentioned those Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of that great American "idea."
This is just sad. No other nation in the world has made such great strides in such a short time. It is something to be proud of not apologize for. So disappointing https://t.co/5liKYAqkLO

“We’ve never lived up to it”? Speak for yourself, man! This immigrant is so grateful to be an American — and I never diss her or take her for granted. https://t.co/mue2JRAzLv
