Over the weekend, news broke that a Black Lives Matter activist from Atlanta had been arrested by federal authorities on wire fraud and money laundering charges. An investigation suggested that Tyree Conyers-Page, known as Sir Maejor Page, had made purchases of $200,000 worth of personal items with money that had been donated to a Black Lives Matter fundraising organization.
Now, Black Lives Matter supporters are continuing to receive criticism after some supporters were caught on camera wearing Antifa clothes and spray painting inverted crosses, Nazi Swastikas, pentagrams, Black Lives Matter and Biden 2020. On a Chaldean Catholic Church, which has a congregation that is primarily composed of Christian refugees and immigrants from Iraq.
The church is located in El Cajon, California, and the event comes on the heels of the first presidential debate between President Donald Trump (R) and former Vice President Joe Biden (D). Both political figures are set to discuss the recent string of protests, riots and lootings that have taken storm across the United States.
Although the video footage of the vandalism has been released, no arrests have been made.
In response to such events, lawmakers in Florida and Texas have both responded with legislation to heavily punish those that are found vandalizing public property and disturbing the peace, which has been met with criticism from Democratic lawmakers who have accused the move of infringing on Americans’ right to protest.
