Just when you thought conspiracy theorist and Republican congressional candidate Jessi Melton could not possibly post another lie during the 2020 presidential election cycle, the embattled candidate tweeted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “confirmed” that Israel had conducted a drone strike in Beirut that caused the massive explosion which killed at least 135 people and injured 5,000 more.
Melton tweeted her assertion moments after the explosion occurred, but within 20 minutes or so of tweeting the false claim, Melton deleted her tweet.
Here is her deleted tweet:
"It is unacceptable that a shipment of ammonium nitrate estimated at 2,750 tons has been present for six years in a warehouse without taking preventive measures that endanger the safety of citizens," Prime Minister Hassan Diab said on Twitter
But Melton’s Netanyahu lie is not the only misrepresentation or distortion of the truth she has recently stated.
A day after the explosion, Melton posted a very defensive video of herself playing the victim card, where she claims that she and her father had both been “stalked” by “RINO Republicans” at their homes.
Melton’s father, Howard Melton, posted about a week ago that one of his daughter’s rival campaign’s recently left a campaign door hanger on his door, and that he wishes he was home to confront whoever knocked on his door.
Was this the “stalking” Melton is talking about? Did a campaign volunteer come to their door and just leave a door hanger?
Melton’s campaign lies keep piling up. After The Floridian uncovered that Melton had made the false claim that she received the endorsement from both Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Republican Jewish Coalition, all mention of the ‘fake” endorsements stopped. During an Americans for Trump forum, Melton dodged answering for her fake endorsements by instead attacking her opponent Fran Flynn with yet another false allegation.
