Charlie Crist
Florida Rep. Charlie Crist (D) has issued a letter out to supporters, slamming the Trump administration and its measures against healthcare in the United States.
In the letter, the Florida lawmaker expressed that “we’re in the middle of a global pandemic and the Trump administration just filed a legal brief asking the Supreme Court to strike down the Affordable Care Act.” He added that “if successful, 23 million Americans will be left without healthcare, and protections for pre-existing conditions would go by the wayside.”
The former Florida Governor argued that what the Trump administration is doing is “a heartless, unconscionable act that would cripple our healthcare system in the middle of this massive health crisis.”
Calling it a counterproductive move on the part of the administration, the Florida rep. argued that “at a time like this, we should be working together to improve our healthcare system, not eliminating it.”
For Crist, he asks his supporters to join him in calling "for the Senate to pass legislation making healthcare more accessible and affordable, protecting care for millions of Americans' under threat from the Trump administration."
This call to supporters comes a time when Florida continues to be gravely impacted by the coronavirus through skyrocketing numbers of people that have tested positive in the last few weeks.
