Progressive Cava targets 'Trump ally' Esteban Bovo in Miami

Share

Miami-Dade County’s non-partisan mayoral race has gotten pretty partisan as Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava has decided to campaign against one of her “Trump ally” campaign opponents and fellow county commissioners.

Cava’s latest online fundraise ask shows a “sponsored” Facebook ad that mayoral candidate Esteban “Steve” Bovo recently published of him shaking hands with President Donald Trump.

“Steve Bovo is a Trump ally running for Miami-Dade Mayor. Can you help us stop him and defend progressive values in Miami-Dade?- Daniella Levine Cava

In the letter, Cava warns that the county could very well end up “with a Mayor who supports Donald Trump” and that Bovo and Republicans are spending hundreds of thousands of campaign dollars to defeat her.

Miami-Dade can become a model of progressive government and help turn Florida blue,” stated Cava “We have to stop Bovo first.”

But considering how progressives have handled themselves during the protests and riots where they burned police cars and vandalized neighborhoods, are Miamians ready for another Democrat like Cava to lead them to a progressive utopian government?

There isn’t any doubt that Cava is by far the most leftist or progressive candidate on the August 18 ballot, but the even though former Mayor Alex Penelas, who is also running in the race, is also considered to be very liberal, Cava could be in a position to garner the support from the heart of the Democratic Party base of support – the Bernie bros.

Like we said, Cava, checks off all the boxes when it comes to being a very true blue Democrat in Miami-Dade County.

She was a staunch supporter of President Barack Obama, and during the 2016 presidential cycle, Cava expressed her unabated support for then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton

“I have been a great admirer of her for many years,” Levine Cava said.
