Rick Scott signs on to senate bill to sanction Communist China

Florida Senator Rick Scott (R) has joined South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) and other colleagues in introducing the COVID-19 Accountability Act, which would authorize the President to impose sanctions on China and its Chinese Communist Government if they refuse to cooperate and provide a full accounting of the events that led up to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Senator Graham is “convinced that without Chinese Communist Party deception the virus would not be here in the United States.”

Moreover, he asserted that “China refuses to allow the international community to go into the Wuhan lab to investigate,” adding that “they refuse to allow investigators to study how this outbreak started.” Noting that “China will never cooperate with a serious investigation unless they are made to so,” he confirmed that “this hard-hitting piece of legislation will sanction China until they cooperate with investigators.”

Senator Scott supports the China sanction legislation and has made it clear he wants answers, commenting that “Communist China started a global pandemic and failed to provide any information that could have helped save thousands of lives.” Saying that “they need to be held accountable,” Scott added that “if Communist China refuses to be honest about the origins of the Coronavirus, the U.S. will not wait for history to judge them harshly.”

Instead, the United States “will take action and we will do everything we can to hold Communist China accountable for the devastation they have caused around the world.”

Senator Graham concluded that lawmakers “must determine how the virus came about and take steps, like closing the wet markets, to ensure it never happens again.”

“More than eighty thousand Americans are dead and millions more are jobless today because of China’s failure to contain and prevent the spread of the virus,” Graham said.

As lawmakers continue introducing legislation against the Chinese Communist Government, this is another development in the strained relationship between both countries.
